Adults invited to read in Jeff library’s winter reading program

“It’s Reading Cats ‘n Dogs!”

The Jefferson Public Library will hold its 5th annual adult winter reading program from January 8 to March 8.  With the theme, “It’s Reading Cats ‘n Dogs!” Those who would like to participate may pick up an activity packet at the library.  The adult winter reading program is free and open to anyone with a library card from the adult department.

Prizes are earned by completing the activities in the packet, attending programs, and, of course, reading books.  A drawing will be held for the grand prize to be given at the final party in March.

Last year, participants read a total of 344 books during the two-month program.  There will be a prize awarded to the person who reads the most pages.  All books read during the program count, including those read to a child, listened to on CD, or read electronically.

The program is sponsored by the following local businesses:  Ben Franklin/Radio Shack, Bomgaars, Bunkers Dunkers, CompuSense, Dairy Queen, Deal’s Orchard, Don’s Ace Hardware, Excuses Pizza, Pasta & Burgers, Fareway, Greene Bean Coffee, Home Care Medical, John 15 Vineyard, Krieger’s Flower Shop, Linda’s Fashions, Subway, The Printer’s Box, and Friends of the Jefferson Public Library.
